Local Law 152

I do the LL152 Inspections. I charge a little more for larger buildings with multiple meters but not much. There are all kinds of horror stories around these inspections and I’m looking to get through them as painlessly as possible. It is little more than a visual safety inspection and sniffing for “significant” gas leaks with a detector wand. Call for a price if you’d like. Anyone hear of this? I’ve been told by a couple of people in the plumbing game that there’s been an amendment and now the gas inspection requires access to the entire property, including apartments and rented spaces. I’m trying to get my situation sorted and it looks like a much bigger deal than I thought going in. Meanwhile, nobody at the DoB picks up the phone…

this update from this month doesn’t show any indication that there has been a change. https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/buildings/pdf/ll152_gas_piping_cert_sn.pdf
i don’t think they could really change at this point though. Are the people telling you this trying to get money from you for a more thorough inspection? i was also told by someone today that the plumbers will be carrying gas sniffing wands that connect directly to national grid/coned, but i have no reason to believe that this is true.

Most threads on LL 152 are from last year. I am wondering if there are any recommendations on who did a good job recently and for how much? Does the number of units in a building impact the pricing? I need to get it done by the end of this year and am happy to wait until the June 30th deadline frenzy is over. My multi-family is in Clinton Hill. Thanks as always.
