Anyone ever here of a neighbor knocking down walls?

I did a survey on my house on 11/15. My neighbor also did a survey of my house(2 people came over on 12/1 saying they were checking the trees- was actually a 4-5 minute survey). The tenant next door to me has been attacking the sheet rock in his apartment on and off for a few weeks. Last Tuesday, someone brought him a bag of tools. I suspect he will knock down my walls and then the landlord will have the house re-bricked, re-stooped, and recemented to match what he did in the apartment. If this happens, I will call the cops, then 311/DOB, then sue. Has anyone ever heard of this scenario?

Wait is the implication here that a tenant of a neighboring building is going to knock a hole between two buildings to make their apartment larger?! Also, how does “…he will knock down my walls and then the landlord will have the house re-bricked, re-stooped, and recemented to match what he did in the apartment” mean a hole in the party wall? I have been following these posts for months and I still dont understand how messing with the (interior) party wall will effect re-stooping? I am so very intrigued and confused.

no. why would anyone intentionally break through an interior party wall (which is a structural wall) into what is OBVIOUSLY their neighbor’s property. You don’t need a property survey to tell you that you don’t own what’s on the other side of the party wall. our neighbor’s contractor cut a hole through to our bedroom wall during renovation but that was within one building and was probably an honest mistake. what you’re saying just doesn’t make sense.
