Call your homeowners insurance company. They may pay you for the cost and then go after the neighbor’s insurance co (just the way things work). Of course, you’ve got a deductible so calling your insurance co depends on how cooperative your neighbors will be and what the cleanup will cost.

My neighbor’s waste line cracked and in the weeks it took to come to that conclusion, I’ve had seepage in my basement. They’re repairing the line now and I need to have an environmental cleanup done to abate any waste/bacteria etc. I’d love recommendations; I can’t find anything in the archives. Also, is this my neighbor’s expense? Thanks all!

Thanks No Permits…I googled Steamway and didn’t see any NY listings. Are they out of NJ? (I’m assuming not Iowa!)
