Private event permission?

Do you know if a commercial building in Brooklyn (zoned for manufacturing) is allowed to have a private party for less than 75 people? Is there some type of permit necessary? Can the attendees bring their own alcohol if the party is not open to the public? What would be involved in getting the right authorization? Thanks for any info – I could only find info for a place of assembly permit that involves a gathering of more than 75 people.
