Blinds Repair

Laurel Manufacturing in Maspeth, Queens did our blinds and they were very reasonable–all new tapes and cords for about $40 per blind.  They came back looking and working great.  They’re on Grand Ave.

Does anyone know who repairs the old wooden blinds commonly found in brownstones? The wood is all in tact but the cord broke so we can’t pull the blind up. I used to have a guy who did this but he retired. I live in Park Slope and really want to keep these old blinds in. I Googled it but I just keep coming up with window repair and not blind repair companies.

Heights Woodworking will do a beautiful job. For a high price. And you really have to stay on top of them to get it done in a reasonably timely manner. They’ve had my shutters for over 2 months but are finally going to install them tomorrow. They’ll charge you to come get them and strip paint (if necessary, think about lead paint), and repair, restain and reinstall. Be sure to get quotes for all the work (repair quote will only be possible after they see what needs fixing.) They’ve been in the business for a long time and are very nice — just slow bc they’re so busy.
