recaning chairs

I have a good quality desk chair that needs to be caned. I would appreciate a recommendation for someone who can do this kind of work.

Moon River Chattel did our dining chairs. I was very pleased when they stained the caning to match the color of the chairs that didn’t need redoing. But it wasn’t cheap (about $60 per chair I believe). Also they utilize the machine method of recaning — which results in a thick edge or spline — rather than the more delicate method of “sewing” the cane through the rim by hand.

I’ve used Yorkville Caning up in Woodside Queens in the past. They do good work, and I guess their prices are reasonable. I paid $125 per chair if I remember correctly.
