New Facade for my Brownstone - Any advise for a reliable contractor

Hello, In order to give you fair estimate you should include the size of the facade (building width and height). That will determine price of scaffold, also if your house is right on the public sidewalk GC will have to put the bridge etc. If you are still looking for GC, post required info in order for me to help you with numbers. Looking for a new contractor for our 5 units building in Park Slope. We heard this could range from 60k to 100k. Any advise for somebody who could do that in a reasonable time and apply for permits and scaffolding as part of the work. How many years should be the warrantee be? What is correct to ask?

Hey @hillel my name is maria we actually did our facade restoration on 12th street this year with Amin Home Improvement Inc. They did a beautiful job on our facade! took there time and gave us a quality job give them a call i highly recommend that company they are very professional at what they do. Also, they give a good warrantee and they have long list of references from 20 years ago till now.

Amin evidently has different crews, some of which are better than others. I have neighbors who were pleased w/ their work but also a few who are in law suits over poorly done work. There are many other companies such as Excellent- you can probably find a list in the Archives. It’s a bit late in the year to start such a project but you might want to book now & not get wait-listed in the spring.

I used Spanish mason Jose Gonzalez and am still very happy with the results – about 5 years after the facade work was done. He’s a master. I don’t know that he secures landmark permits – but you can ask him. I’ve recommended him on this site before. One nice thing about Jose is that when he does your facade – he actually does the work himself. You’re not getting the B or the C team. He’s done several facades on my block (S Elliott) and they look great years later.
