I have a McDonnell 67 lower water cutoff valve.  It has been increasingly dripping slowly from the bottom (1 drop every few seconds).  Took the blowdown valve off and cleared out all the rusty chunks that were stuck above it.   Replaced it and it still drips.  What kind of sealant or lubricant is good for this?  Is it something I can find at a normal hardware store or do I have to go to a plumbing supply place?
