Steam Boiler Condensate Lines

So I’ve received 4 estimates so far. Three of them do not call for a condensate pump. Those 3 all said it’s not required in a residential set-up like mine. One said, of the homes that have steam heat in Long Island, most of the wet returns are below the slab without a pump. Is that okay? Do I need a pump?

I’m getting pricing from companies to drop my steam boiler condensate lines below the slab since I currently have only about 5 feet of clearance and I’m looking to finish the basement. What should I be looking for in the estimates I receive? A condensate pump? Schedule 80 threaded pipe? Below grade bracing? Anything else? Also, would somebody mind drawing a quick sketch of how it should look? Thanks.
