I’d turn it on now and see that it runs first.  But yes, if the previous owner didn’t provide you with any records, do so now before it gets cold.  Boilers require more than furnaces like filters, especially if they are oil fired.  Not sure what it costs up here.  i pay $225 in PA.  Call your oil provider or, Petro, who I know from PA and my neighbors like here in brooklyn.

Yes, their rates are competitive. But go cheap get cheap. Just remember when you hire someone based soley on price you usually wind up paying more in the long run. Get it done right the first time.
