Full size Washer & Dryer for brownstone basements

This is good to know. We recently put a brand new washer & dryer in our basement which happened to coincide with a much needed replacement of our front access hatch. I just figured that they were now entombed down there and would just have to keep having them repaired when need be! Thanks!!

A lot of people think they aren’t able to get a full size W&D down their narrow stairs. This is wrong. There are what are called “Breakdown models” that easily break down to be brought in and reassembled. I don’t know which brand washer makes a breakdown model and only Speed Queen makes a breakdown dryer (I just got one for $799 in Philly). Of course there is also a breakdown and reassemply charge ($85) but it’s well worth it to get full size appliances. The bigger problem may be in finding dealers who will sell these and go through the trouble of doing such but I’m sure you can find them. Just FYI
