Seeking Vintage -like tiles for bathroom floor

Re doing my brownstone original bathroom and need to find period appropriate floor tiles. I would like white hex, unglazed. Or unglazed white hex with a black square in the middle of the pattern. Or white with black basket weave, unglazed. I can only find plain white hex unglazed, but would prefer a pattern incorporating black but it seems that anything with black…the black part is glazed. I am open to other patterns but it must be unglazed and historic. Also need local pick up, no shipping. Thanks.

Variety of natural stones such as slate, marble, limestone, tiles, travertine, sandstone, granite, etc can be used for stone flooring for kitchens ans bathroom. As each of these has different properties, it is very important to understand their unique characteristics to determine which one is appropriate for use as stone tiles in bathroom and kitchens respectively.

It is recommended that flooring materials have a minimum of 0.6 dryness coefficient, as higher coefficients indicate high tile traction.

Ask stone suppliers in London MKW Surfaces appropriate questions to know as much as possible about the material you are considering for use as stone flooring for kitchens to understand the specific characteristics of the material before purchasing.

I looked at lots of tile stores, starting with Classic tile, for a common variation on the black flower pattern (matte) and couldn’t find it anywhere. Priced it at American Restoration and it was outrageously expensive (but I love looking at the pics on their site). Finally went with Daltile (Manhattan), where you can have tile patterns custom made for a reasonable price. They also didn’t take as long as I expected. But you’ll probably have to have it shipped. Got all other tile from Classic.

I thought Nemo tile had bad customer service and also was more modern in their stock. I am always happy to use classic tile in Bay Ridge. I bought tile like this years ago from Bergen- now closed- but give classic tile a call and ask before you trek out there.

We got white hex tile with a black flower pattern, all matte finish, from Galactic Tile in Sunset Park. You can find standard hex tile with black dots at Lowes and Home Depot, although they may not have enough in stock for what you need.

I got mine at Bergen Tile when I redid my bathroom. Of course they are no longer in Brooklyn, but there are Bergen Tiles in NJ and LI that may have similar stock. Not even sure if they’re the same Bergen, but worth a shot.
