recs for someone to rip out cement backyard to landscape
hopefully the cement was not a solution to cure water intrusion problems. I say this because for the life of me i can’t figure out why people paid so much money to concrete over their entire backyards – surely there were cheaper ways to avoid yard maintenance. any takers on that one?

hi folks. our backyard is covered in cement. would like to tear it out and put in grass and maybe have it landscaped. can anyone make some recommendations?

I’d also love a recommendation for someone to remove concrete from a backyard (even better if you can tell me roughly how much you paid!)

I’d get casual labor from in front of Home Depot or Lowe’s, rent tools if needed, hire a dumpster (tell them it’s solely for concrete for a best deal), & move on to landscaping when that work is done.

if you DIY supervise the thing make sure you get someone who can get rid of the concrete. Trash is expensive. About grass: be aware that it’s a commitment – do not step on new sod for at least 2-3 weeks, then mowing once a week, fertilizing, reseeding… I just did about the same project you are planning and I got myself an unexpected new hobby: lawncare expert.
