Insulation / Building codes

No it is not. As part of any DOB filing, energy code compliance has to be shown – this lists the energy performance of every building assembly, and usually also includes drawing of each assembly. Placement of insulation is also an item that has to be signed off on by a controlled inspection company – or sometimes by the architect – during construction. jcarch ———————— James Cleary Architecture brownstoner.staging.wpengine.com/jamescleary

Hi – I live in a new two level condo in Brooklyn. Above the 1st floor is my neighbors patio. Above my basement level is my patio. There is no insulation between these living spaces and the patios. I’m wondering if this is up to the nyc building code? Thanks!
