Cutting down a double vanity top and refurbishing it

Right. Folks above are focused on cutting and polishing the vanity top, but presumably you also need the vanity cut down and re-assembled. This begins to sound like an expensive approach unless that is a very unique vanity.

I saw a double sink vanity at Build It Green that’s 66 inches wide. My space can only accommodate 60 inches. Where could I take it to get it cut down, sides finished and surfaced polished? The sinks and faucets would need to be taken out before doing the work. Thanks.

You didn’t mention what material it is. Wood? Marble? Assuming it’s a natural solid surface, you can try the guys across from BIG in the Lowe’s parking lot (across from the salvage place). They sell stone, so they would be able to cut and polish for you. Not saying they would want to, but they can. 😉

Yes, rh, it’s either stone or marble. Thanks for the suggestion.

It seems you have not purchased it, you are asking about it in case it seems like a good idea. Things like this are fragile and heavy. You have to add the price of moving it, refabrication and installation to the purchase price. You have to really love the item, it ain’t cheap to do this work well. If, I haven’t talked you out of it, I might be available to do this for you. However, I don’t know about the faucet or other parts. They might work fine with nothing more than replacement washers, but you might also wind up replacing the faucets. I specialize in tile and stone. Thanks, Greenmountain. All good points and it might not be worth it. I’ll get in touch if we decide to move forward.
