Bathtub reglazing

I have an old cast-iron, claw-foot bathtub that I am thinking about having reglazed. Has anyone had an experience with this type of job? If so, I’d like to get  details about what this entails, recommendations on reglazers, costs, time, etc.

We ended up using G&G Tub for reglazing our tub- matte black on the outside, and gloss white inside.  They did a great job.

I did a reno of my bathroom about a year ago. the only thing I kept was the tub. I had it reglazed and really think it came out fantastic. It was not a claw foot and was also a hideous pepto pink. I had it repainted in american standard white and a year later it still looks great. if you are drastically changing the color you need to be careful of scratching it. no metal soap dishes. I accidentally put a 2 inch scratch in it last month while changing my shower curtain hooks. I used this company called fancy dom. http://www.yellowpages.com/brooklyn-ny/mip/fancy-dom-inc-456058102 The guy was extremely professional. first they basically have to tape everything off like they are painting a car. then it takes maybe a half hour to spray and you cant use the tub for 2 days. if you do reglaze it should be the absolutely last thing you do during your reno. also leave your vanity or toilet unhooked and in another room if its near the tub, so they can better get at the tub to paint it. I think they charged me like $350 and its stinks to high heaven while they do it so keep that in mind. from what I remember they were able to do everything in one day.
