Bayridge avenues are clogged with SUVs left in the middle of the street by people who could not get them out of snow. My car is parked on the meter and I cannot get it out because somebody left his SUV right next to it. So are they really going to issue tickets to the cars on the meters today? I made a few photos my car been blocked and will contest the ticket.
It must be serious snow. Yesterday I saw DOT snow plow with chains fishtailing and crashing into parked car.
thanks. I checked the nyc.gov site at 6:50AM today before heading to the office and it was still saying “meter parking is in effect”.
Funny I wore snowboard pants and goggles to the office and saw few others doing the same. Another foot of snow and I would have to take my snowshoes.
No, they announced on ABC news that you don’t have to feed the meters today. This is also confirmed here: http://www.nyc.gov/html/misc/html/2010/blizzard.html
I heard on the news that metered parking rules have been suspended! check nyc.gov
