  3. Hi, another great company out there, Complimentary Colors, is doing quite a bit of work in the Slope area. Might give Michael Sheehan a call. His name is all over this directory.

  6. We’ve just completed a fairly large renovation project (you can see my “short form” posting further down), and I still am so thankful for having chosen and had the pleasure of working with Creative Renovations in Red Hook and Michael Gray Architects. I think getting those two things right make all the difference on any project.

    Good Luck,

  7. I’m an architect, and I use Ronald Baker of Baker Design Build almost exclusively for this kind of project. He was recommended to me by another designer years ago, and I asked him to bid on a job for me. His prices were the lowest and he had great references, so the homeowner hired him. He did a really great job and stuck to his prices, so I asked him to bid on my next job. He got it, and again did a great job. One more time like this did the trick, and now we approach every job together.

Together, we provide a line item budget from the very start, which includes all design, permitting, construction and sign-off costs so the owner knows exactly what to expect before the project even begins.

We share a huge commitment to sustainability, and Ron’s great at finding ways to re-use material taken out of the existing structure to save on materials costs.

He’s on every job every day from start to finish and has a consistent staff. He’s done everything from small interiors projects to gut renovations, additions and even new brownstone construction.
