Not sure what is going on here and why the name calling or why I need to be fired etc. Just want to reiterate, I am a customer who had a question about some work done in my home. That question was – why replace the valves when by your own admission, it was a system problem? I never received an answer. Nor was I trying be nasty or extort anyone. I wanted to be educated in case something like this happened again.
Like most folks here I work hard for my money and felt I had a right to ask the person who did the job a question. I tried to contact him and email him off line before posting on this site.

What an interesting thread. I own a brownstone in Boerum Hill and had an old creaky boiler. I searched the internet and found the heating help site. Had many email conversations with Dan asking for advice and help, all given. He referred me to John and Gateway. They wound up replaceing my entire system, did an amazing job. Great price. This was about 8 years ago. I have since moved out of state and rented out my home. I called up Gateway two weeks ago to come out and service the system, had to replace one rad vent. Not bad after 8 years…

After reading that link to the post provided by Mr. Kirsh, my first thought was that it’s sometimes necessary (and prudent) to fire a customer. Seems like that’s what happened here.
I’d trust John and his team to work in my own home. He’s a total professional and a man of integrity.

I would have thought that to resort to name calling would be beneath even you. Sorry you feel it has come to that. Shame on you.
If you wanted to truly be helpful you should have returned my call to your office, days ago when the incident occurred instead of patrolling this site.
We have already addressed the issue and it has been fixed. The valves you replaced and charged me for were not the issue. I can now confirm that.
Maybe in the future you might want to take a more hands on personal approach instead of posting on the internet.
