What is everyone’s thoughts on Clermont Greene? Does anyone live there presently? How do you like it and are you glad you bought/rent there?

My take, feel free to dispute it..

Pros: Reasonable listing price per square foot (not to bid at that level..but most other condos in the market are $50k to $75k more that it might compete against, and already marked down once), great neighborhood and block..near Myrtle but that street has improved by leaps and bounds, solid square footage, very good appliances, balcony, roofdeck, gym in basement, courtyard, underground parking, doorman, tax abatement, reasonable maintenance, cold storage, and 2 blocks from the park.

Cons: Farther from subways..real hike to the B line, C line is 8 to 10 minute walk, new construction in a neighborhood that’s charm is partially driven by well maintained brownstones, cabinets aren’t that great (but in my view are good enough to start).

Overall to me, it seems like a compelling deal at that price point, with many other competing developments (580 carroll street, 575 sterling, pick a condo in billysburg) being in worse neighborhoods or are much more expensive.

Anyone care to add to the view, good or bad? Curent resident input gets special, gold stars.

  1. Hey there,

We looked at that building. What turned us off was the dorm-like feel we experienced while we were there.

A few residents on a few floors we visited felt comfy enough to leave their doors cracked open, so it was a little off putting.

We ended up looking in smaller developments after that as the sheer size of the building became something we decided against.

They have plenty of amenities which is why we took a look to begin with and its a good deal if you’re into that kind of development, just make sure you go after work, when people are around.
