Hello–I am trying to design my new bathroom on my own. The space is relatively small (7×5) with no window. Any suggestions for color schemes, tile choices, etc. to create a luxurious, feminine, petite spa quality bath? I was thinking Tiffany Blue, but I am worried if may look to blah without any natural light coming in. All suggestions, pictures, resources, are much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Perrone Construction did a wonderful job renovating my bathroom and refinishing our wood floors. I dealt directly with Don Perrone, the owner, who was more than accommodating to our needs. The entire job cost $12,500, which was exactly what Don quoted us. I highly recommend.

  3. We renoed a small windowless bathroom using 21×21 Dom Canvas tile in a light grey on the floor and on one wall. We bordered the wall with Dom Canvas 2×2 black/grey mosaic and placed an IKEA double sink in high gloss grey on that wall. We used a walk-in shower opposite. Added lots of different lighting — over the shower, sconces on walls by the sink, spotlights above the sink. This gives flexibility, but also gives a lot of light and makes the room look bigger.

  4. I love tile, and it can be very luxurious. I would go window-shopping at the many great tile stores in NYC for inspiration. When you find something you love, that can help drive your color scheme.

Are you more contemporary or traditional?

Since you don’t have room for a tub and the room is smallish, I would spring for a frameless shower door if your budget allows–it will show off more tile and make the room look larger.

  5. It’s a classic brownstone. I wanted to put a clawfoot tub in to go with the age of the home, but I don’t have room for a separate shower and don’t want to climb in and out of a deep clawfoot everyday to shower. It’s not the only bathroom. It will be on a private level with my bedroom; so it will kinda be my master bath, but not en suite. It will be used everyday by me and occasionally by “special” guests:-)!

    Thanks guys for the help!

  6. Sure. Can you tell us a little more about the age, style, and type of apartment or house you live in? Is this the only bathroom in the home? Who will be using it? Will it be used every day or only once in a while?
