Howdoyaall Like the New Color??
I couldn’t stand the old drab yellow… http://www.flickr.com/photos/39334869@N04/4289892201/in/photostream/ Points for discussion: *DIBS is a jerk *The turquoise vs. a deeper blue *White moldings *Excellent taste in decorating PS I used Glidden true Turquoise that I got from HD. Amazingly it was $15 a gallon and was as good as painting with Benj Moore, Sherwin Williams…

“I don’t think furniture should match the walls; nor should artwork. That becomes too “HGTV” or, even worse, Christopher Lowell.

I disagree. You’re trying to create an overall atmosphere so the components should be sympathetic with each other otherwise it looks jarring.
Does anyone know the correct architectural term for the narrow moldings on the walls that form the “boxes?”

They’re called panel mouldings.

also agree with bxgrl that the funiture looks too dark now though. Good excuse to go antiquing.

I think the color per se looks good, but I don’t think it matches your furniture very well. Obviously I only have the photo to go on and so it may look very different in real life.
I love it!
Very New Orleansy. Nice. I made sure not to paint my cove moldings either.
Looks great DIBS!
I’m a big fan of the “Wedgewood” look.
