Howdoyaall Like the New Color??
I couldn’t stand the old drab yellow… http://www.flickr.com/photos/39334869@N04/4289892201/in/photostream/ Points for discussion: *DIBS is a jerk *The turquoise vs. a deeper blue *White moldings *Excellent taste in decorating PS I used Glidden true Turquoise that I got from HD. Amazingly it was $15 a gallon and was as good as painting with Benj Moore, Sherwin Williams…

DIBS – not a jerk.
This reminded me of some 18th century drawing room in a home near the Tuileries. So, I liked it. If that wasn;t what you were going for, at least that what it does for me.

You mean the small piece missing at the top of the fireplace corner???
I haven’t been able to find any to match 🙁

Yeah, hard to see. No worries!
…and you have ceiling moulding, sweet.

That’s actually plaster relief designs above the picture rail. I think it’s called “wedding cake.”…mostly urns and swags, about 3/2 – 1/2′ raised plaster. I was surprised to find it in such great shape.
Not my style, and I liked the muffin yellow but the blue looks good DIBS, very french. My walls are pancake in the center, mauve at the top (where you have your stencils?) with white crown mouldings….who am I to judge.
Love the accent chairs by your windows….and finish that moulding off over there, no cheating!
Oh, ok…that’s better then. From the photo, it just looks like a sea of white. So, good news: not a jerk.
rh, I don’t disagree. You can’t see it from the photo but the ceiling is a light gray and there’s a band of that in the crown as well. Many people think I’m a jerk so get in line.
🙂
I love the color! I did a sort of powder blue in my garden apartment front room. My theme is “Hollywood Regency meets Tacky”. The furniture is pretty glitzy too.
My only thought is that you should add an accent color to either the crown moulding or decorative plaster. It would frame in the walls more. Maybe a touch of the blue or some gold to the relief?
And if you disagree with me, you’re a jerk.
