Blackboard Panel for Fridge
I am about to buy a new fridge for our apartment – GE ZIC 360 NXRH – and I am interested in putting panels of chalkboard or blacboard instead of just millwork panels. If any knows of anyplace or anyone who can make these panels or supplies to our millworker, I’d appreciate it. Thanks Richard…

There’s a recipe for chalkboard paint which is basically 1 cup of flat latex paint with 2 tbsp of unsanded grout:

There is also black chalkboard contact paper.
There’s also colored chalkboard paint, if you want to do something other than black:

Are you applying panels directly on the frig? Some use the side metal panels as radiators, so be aware you may be affecting the working and effieciency.
The chalk board paint that BenMoore sells is a water borne formulation (in quarts). A more industrial version is available at Abbott Paint and Varnish but it is only sold in gallons. A quart is more than enough for a refrigerator.
I used a black primer on 1/4″ MDF and then applied the chalkboard paint on the last few I made for a resturant and they work very well.
