Forgot to add..above..180 sq. ft. of tile…Thanx!
Hello…redoing a small bath in Manhattan…33sq. ft. Can someone tell me the going rate for removing wall tiles and replacing with new tiles (floor to ceiling)???..then tile over existing floor tiles…very good condition! Just the labor $$$..I’ll provide materials! Thanx!
If you have cheap tastes and can live with terrible craftsmanship, you can do this for $5,000. If you have any class whatsoever and any eye for detail, it will cost you significantly more. Bathrooms and Kitchens can be the most expensive costs per sq ft when done correctly. If you can find someone to do this for you for labor less than $5,000, I would hesitate. We did our 50 sf bathroom for $5,000 labour (and it wasn’t absolutely great) plus about $2,500 in tiles, fixtures and lighting. It turned out ok, but we wish we would have went with the more expensive $10,000 contractor who did our kitchen (his price was $10,000 for the labor. If you want a cheap price, you’ll get it, but you’ll also have to live with the consequences.
Sorry, meant 40sf not 400sf….it’s been a long day.
You didn’t ask the question properly. You need the details in order to make fair comparisons. Other wise $200 x 400sf= $8000
Would it be considered “cutting corners” to put in antique fixtures that you can pick up for a few hundred bucks? I don’t know how much labor costs, but materials could be less than $3000 for everything. If it was me shopping, it would be less than $1000. (I’m very cheap)
it shouldn’t be $15K, even without “cutting corners”. the OP said 40 square feet. how many tiles could it take? depending on finishes, figure $6-9K.
Labour should be $5,000 – $10,000.
paint, tile and fixtures is all up to your tastes. Total cost is probably around $15,000 and up, unless you really cut corners or have really cheap tiles and fixtures.
I had a similar size bathroom gut renovated, new sheetrock/cement board, new sub floor, rip out a shower, put in a tub, tile around the tub. I paid $3500 for the labor and the non-finishing materials, I paid for the tiles, tub, fixtures, etc.
