  1. It was a tongue-in-cheek play on the term “piece of ass” commonly used to describe someone with a hot bod; in this case, we were using the word “ass” a little more derogatively, more like a “piece of S—“.

  2. I think it’s time for Mr. B. to farkify his site, but with a brownstoner twist. Anytime someone types “shit” it would show up as “Scarano” as in “That new Fedders building is a huge piece of Scarano.” “Fuck” would come out as “Boymelgreen” as in “Who gives a flying Boymelgreen what mothers in Park Slope think?” And any entry with the words “bubble” and “burst” would be entirely rewritten as “I like high school boys.”

  3. i think mr b thought that “a piece of ass” could stand in for “a piece of shit”. mr b is probably too civilized to know that “ass”, while related to “shit” (being the provenance of), has an entirely different meaning here. “a piece of ass” is actually used to refer to a derriere that one (albeit vulgarly) approves of, such as “sharon stone, now that’s a nice piece of ass”. alternately, it can be used to refer to “getting it on” with someone, as in “i’d like to get me a piece of that ass”.

    mr b?

  4. you have to paint the iron in any event. My guess is the cheapest windows and doors came in white aluminum or vinal (sp?), so they painted the railing white to match. I agree. Black would look better for the whole lot, doors, window frames and railings.

  5. Attractive? Questionable. But what’s this thing with white iron railings all of a sudden. Wouldn’t black iron railings look a little more in keeping with brick? Or is white iron cheaper than black. It puzzles me every time I see white iron anywhere…even on b’stones. Looks so out of place.
