As another post mentioned, I like the Ainslie Grand much better. It looks like a better fit for the neighborhood, and the interiors seem much nicer. The developer’s website has more pics…www.reddllc.com
Just yesterday I visited the development at their open house. The place is nice but I have seen better. The quality of the interior seems cheap and if you are someone interested in purchasing be ready to hear all you neighbors business thru the walls. The sound proofing is awful. As for the neighbor hood well I would be weary of those apartments that have terraces and open space towards the back of the building. You can be sure some of your neighbors garbage may end up in your terrace. The neighborhood still needs a alot of work. and I would not attempt to walk to the J train at any time. Good luck on this pricey investment..
Yes, the ‘hood is getting to be a better place, and has been for a while. However, city still dumps homeless shelters, etc in bed-stuy, see comments to

Before putting down a payment, I would recommend a check on the nearby vacant lots. If recently city owned, there’s a good chance they’ll be developed as Section 8 (aka Housing Choice) housing. Which is, of course, a good thing, but maybe not so good for property values of a “hipster loft” apt that’s bought as an long-term investment.
Also, the walk home to Dekalb from to the G train can seem very long and dark. And the walk from the J, at least after 10pm, would be dicey at best.
what about the other listing on that corcoran page, “The Ainslie Grand” in east williamsburg ! The Ainslie Grand! What’s next, Bushwicke Parc? If there’s one thing Ainslie street ain’t, it’s Grand. Yeesh
I guess you’re right, jk. I didn’t look at the corcoran site’s pictures of what the development will look like after it’s done. it does look modern, but not as modern as the condos going up on greene in ch.
I rode by that development over the weekend. I don’t disagree with browngirl that as far as DeKalb goes around there, it could be worse. But that stretch is still pretty wretched. The block behind it is worse still.
In no way does that development “fit in to the nabe”. The development looks like a hipster loft, totally out of place in a Brownstone neighborhood. If this doesn’t look “ultra-modern” I don’t know what does:

But what do I know: there may end up being a Whole Foods up the street from this place.

That area has a lot of potential, the block that this development is on is one of the best stretches of dekalb on that side of bedford.
i think it might be a good way to bridge both sides of dekalb. plus, when i passed by, it seemed like the developers tried to fit in to the nabe and not throw up some sort of ultra modern building in the midst of all of the older buildings.
