Loft Building? That's No Loft Building

The most notable thing about this building is that it exists at all. Crammed into a trapezoidal sliver of land on the south side of Park Avenue between Grand Avenue and Steuben Street, the new four-story structure is now being pitched as a loft building on the street signage (it doesn’t get the time of day with Corco broker Deborah Rieders online). We’re generally optimistic longer-term about the blocks on either side of the BQE, but this kind of crapola doesn’t exactly help the cause. Question for the brokers: Is it ethical to take a listing that you’re too embarrassed to include on your website? BTW, Clinton Hill Blog also posted about this earlier this morning. GMAP
wtf. Is that abomination 10 ft wide? Looks like a lego stack.
You know what is scary? I drive by this modest little building all the time. Although it sits almost under the BQE on a little piece of end of the earth property it is actually better built than most of the stuff in the South Slope. The synthetic stucco contractor is top notch and the black brick on the front facade is kind of interesting. It’s a very neat and tidy job and the color seems more consistent than many many others around town. I’m surprised they even went to this extreme. They could have just used colored concrete block on the whole thing. There is another big building going up just about another block up that’s brick with the first floor to be stone of some kind. Maybe the orthodox community is moving in this direction
Does “Loft building with Parking” mean this is zoned for more than residential use? If so, the plain jane look might make sense. I’d check before buying a residence for sure – you could end up with a little factory or office next door!
At least you can watch for the bus from home.
I would have put larger balconies on the back though.
sorry, boygabriel, we really meant the whole area within one block on either side. it’s not inconceivable that the buildings actually fronting the BQE could have a commercial renaissance though…

You are? I’m optimistic about the side street blocks perpendicular to the BQE, but I don’t see the buildings along the BQE, such as this one, ever being pleasant places to live.
No Rehab you got it wrong this is Dick Mayer’s finest work.
Speechless.
maybe she thinks she’s better than the listing and doesn’t need to promote it? well, you know what i mean…
