And while neglecting to give our post a hat-tip, the business paper did come up with some interesting original content: This rendering. Neato.
A few final thoughts.
1) Our point that was REGARDLESS of whether Crain’s got the information directly (as it probably did) it’s not only common courtesy in the internet age to link but also of utility to readers; it’s an old-media, zero-sum-game mentality not to. (And, for the record, it was meant to be a friendly jab, not the start of WWIII. Crain’s is great at what it does.)
2) Don’t think there’s anything wrong with our verb tenses: “we did go to school, work hard and get a real job” = “we did go to school, (we did) work hard and (we did) get a real job.”
3) Apologies for veering into the 3rd person singular in our original comment; bad form to abandon the first person plural!

When did I ever claim to be Bob Woodward? And, why should I? I’m pretty proud of what I do as a media professional, which does go somewhat beyond writing “travel reports.”
In any event, I expressed an opinion on a subject my fellow journalists and I discuss often – attribution and how it should be applied. I think I did so in a respectful manner, as Mr. B. noted.
And, I happen to disagree with EnglishKills’ view of things – I think Mr. B does a pretty good job overall.
So to sum up, infinitejester you don’t know what you’re talking about, and it won’t be the first time.
