Plans at the huge lot on South 8th Street between Kent and Wythe have been in place for a long time; we covered work there back in 2008, but permits go back all the way to 2004. This new building permit was approved just this month at the site. When we stopped by we saw some construction but no actual work. There also isn’t a whole lot of maintenance going on either! Any Williamsburg residents see much action here? GMAP
a couple of weeks ago someone was out here moving the fencing back from the street, allowing access to the sidewalks on both Wythe and Kent. Other than that nothing has happened here in years.

do developers who neglect sites ever get any fines?
seems like a nice, easy way to raise revenue for the city. (as opposed to giving tickets to people who leave their backpack on the seat next to them on an empty train at 2am)
Haven’t seen any actual work on that property in ages.
