This one snuck up on us. Located on South 1st Street between Havemeyer and Marcy, just a few blocks from our first crib in Brooklyn, the 10-story, 16,000-square-foot tower has shot up amidst its mostly three- and four-story neighbors. According to DOB filings, the building will have twenty residential units. The complaint history suggests that the developer continued to build in the face of a stop work order last fall. Can any neighbors comment on the work process? How ’bout the architect, who’s listed as being Ernest Keller? As far as Google is concerned, the guy doesn’t exist.

  1. Im in charge of developing this building, i just googled the address and found this site.

As far as the quality of the building goes, we’re committed on making a high end building. the views of the upper half of the building are spectacular as well.

With regards to the balconies… these days, real estate prices rule the market, and in this particular case, the owner feels that the balconies will add value to his units.

If you guys can make any suggestions how to improve the project, i would def consider, and appreciate them,(just the non blind and deaf ones please).

PS WE DID NOT DO ANY ILLEGAL WORK DURING THE STOP WORK ORDER.

  2. It is very unfortunate and joins a growing list of ugly buildings in the immediate area. I believe it is referred in the neighborhood as finger 2, after the other monstronsity with a stop work order on N.7th btw bedford and berry.

  3. ernest is my uncle.

    he makes pretty buildings.

but i can’t see them because i am deaf dumb, and blind.

Wait, how the f*** am i typing?
