Work on the four-story, single-family development 420 State has been going forward recently, a change of pace from the development’s history as a bad neighbor that was an SWO-magnet. Right now it’s getting bricked up. If nothing is done to the exterior bricks, this house will be sporting a light gray exterior. (Click through for a close-up.) But, who knows. Has anyone seen a rendering for this one?

  1. The individuals building this house-on-steroids are selfish, selfish, selfish. Their uber-large house has blocked the light and air of neighbors on all sides…and they just don’t care.

  3. I can’t believe that “g man” can say this unless of course he is Ben Hansen.
The Hansens had to build a house on steriods which blocked the light and air from countless apartments at 422 State Street, as well as the neighbors behind and at 418 State.
Had they just built a house that respected the previous footprint (and that of all the other houses around) nobody would have mentioned them.
Selfish, selfish people. Shame on them!

  4. “bad neighbor” is an accusation made by existing residents that was largely unfounded. Brownstoner’s repeating it over and over again turns grudges into fact. It’s really shameful.
