We’re not sure what to make of the new building at 168 Havemeyer and its South Williamsburg counterpart around the corner on South 3rd Street. The window configuration is unique, to say the least. What do you say? GMAP

I’d take pink brick and Fedders over these two buildings.

this area is 50/50 for being part of the barrio. if it’s a decent place – dirty is right that it’ll rent in a second. if it’s condos, then?

(bah. stupid typing) …horizontal windows are off the kitchen or bedroom, maybe the small one is off a bathroom? Hard to tell if the windows are as stupid as they appear without knowing the layout.
Meh. Not terribly attractive, not completely hideous. If there are decent windows looking out the back, could conceivably be nice inside. I’m guessing that the horizontal windows are off hte ktichen or
(rob- why are windows opening out stupid? means you don’t take up space inside with a big swing of window, and in the case of the horizontal ones, it means that the window acts as an awning, allowing you to have the window open for ventilation when it’s raining…)
Housing for the Princes of Darkness.
I think it looks good in the context of those other buildings. Nice contrast.
