Development Watch: Turnaround at 424 Waverly Avenue
What a difference two years makes! The owners of 426 Waverly Avenue purchased the aesthetically-challenged structure back in September 2007 for $1,166,000 and set about restoring it to its original glory. And what a job they’ve done! Hip, hip, hooray! GMAP DOB 2007 Photo from Property Shark

Those interior 1970’s bedroom photos on Facebook are amazing. The entertainment porch with appliances…
bessie2: I know that house!
Thank you for the comments! This has been an exciting project for us. We’ve have put our heart and soul into this restoration… and have hit many speed bumps along the way. I would like to thank my amazingly talented friend at Southslope for his expertise and support throughout this project. Not only has he made the most beautiful doors imaginable, he has been an invaluable resource on all things historic. Take a look at the before and after… we’ve come a long way. Thanks also to our neighbors for their patience. The shed is coming down soon!

The doors were more than $8-10k each, probably $20+ with all the casing work.
Windows $2,500 each
Cornices…don’t know…$40k each???
Yip Hip Hooray is right! Southslope – love the facebook pics and thank you! I have also had the honor of meeting the owner who has put as much love into the inside as the out – a “Monty” is definitely deserved! Inspiring – thank you.
if that renovation cost 250,000(and not 4x that) every contractor and sub needs to post their info on this thread right now! Seriously, no way this cost that little. Not knowing the scope I say $1M labor and materials- I mean, those doors alone must run 8-10K an opening!
This leaves me teary eyed. It makes up (almost) for the foul desecrations/remuddles so often seen in our boro. Agree with MM: it deserves a “Monty”.
Can you give us a ballpark as to what that whole facade restoration cost??? I’m guessing close to $250,000. It is commendable.
What an amazing accomplishment, southslope — congrats!
