What’s missing in that artistic rendering are figures of pedestrians, down on their knees in grateful prayer after having survived one of the worst street crossings in Brooklyn
I hope is is done soon, but looking at this snail pace of construction; I could only feel that the MTA think Brooklyn is one big slum. Every time I come home from Fire Island on Sunday you need to wait 20minutes for the train connection. Sometimes I just go to Penn and take the Subway. The MTA give Brooklyn sub-par service.
Even when it’s done, they’re probably leave a sidewalk “bridge” up for anther year or two… just to make sure it looks like crap for as long as possible.
I have to say, this city seems to be alone in the world for being so tolerant for crappy looking, seemingly endless construction.
I have a suggestion — If you can’t do it right and do it in a reasonable time… DON’T START!!

I’m sure you’re correct. But do you mean to tell me that although Raffles et al own the building and mall, the fare-payers are still stuck paying for that slower than molasses atrium entrance which will serve the mall in part?
Ridiculous.
As I always remember in Manhattan, building owners who wanted to do things with subway entrances when it was to their advantage, had to cough up some serious dough to make it happen…maybe I’m wrong.
Did FCR at least have to set aside monies in the original budget which the MTA is using for the entrance creation?
For all intents and purposes, and from the streetscape view, the entrance appears to be part of the mall.
Why am I even bothering to care? Same old story…

That place is just a mess to get through. As for the LIRR component, well let’s just say that it’s the only train station I can think of that doesn’t have a clock anywhere near the arrival/departure board. Simply amazing…
