I agree. It’s not a slippery slope–or something new–at all. Signs like these have long up when a business sponsors a public use space.

That sign is all of about 18″ x 2′. They make it sound like some banner ad spanning the entire playground. They gave a lot of money to help the school and some people don’t even want them to put their name on it? Seriously?
