65 Hope Street Back in Action


There hasn’t been actual development at the big, unconverted loft complex 53-65 Hope, but there sure has been a lot of selling. It went for $14,200,000 in 2004, $26M in 2006, $12M in 2010, then $17M again in 2010. Now, finally, plans! Developers approached CB1 this week and gave some details on the $40M project. The estimated time of construction is 18 months and it will have approximately 100,500 square feet of residential space and 4,000 square feet of retail space. 117 mostly one-bedroom and studio rental units are proposed. The amenities planned include rooftop space, a gym, rec room, break room and storage room. The developers approached CB1 because the number of parking spaces proposed are far fewer than the number required by zoning. (11 spaces are proposed, 59 spots are required.) The Community Board will vote on the parking proposal at the Landuse Meeting on February 22nd. GMAP
