yeah…like mission dolores should be something that architecture should look up to…..gimme a break
Yuck. Another ugly POS for Fourth Avenue. The golden opportunity is wasted again and again.
If they really wanted to make this building look even better, they should have showed it’s neighbor, that ugly finger building across the street next to Mission Dolores.
Looks like a Scarano.
Yes, I have to agree, the painted cement does not look nice at all. They could have of at least painted it a darker reddish color like the bricks.
I don’t really like the south side of the building with all different types of windows. I like symetrical windows, it makes the facade look much neater. This to me looks like choas….
It is a beautiful building IMO EXCEPT for the earlier mentioned south and east exposures – they essentially painted the cement board white and called it a day…personally upsetting since I have to look at it from that angle daily.
Nicely done in terms of breaking down the mass and celebrating the corner. The changes in plane give some welcome relief to the facade. My only gripe is that it appears that retail at grade on 4th Ave was once again neglected by the developer.
Hard to tell from this gloomy, twilight photo, but it looks better than most of the Fourth Avenue Fuglies.
I think it looks good. Better than most new developments in this city.
