Now the the netting is finally down at 255 4th Avenue we can see how it compares to the original rendering from a couple of years ago. (It’s about time, this building has been about three years in the making!) What do you think of it?

  1. Yes, I have to agree, the painted cement does not look nice at all. They could have of at least painted it a darker reddish color like the bricks.

I don’t really like the south side of the building with all different types of windows. I like symetrical windows, it makes the facade look much neater. This to me looks like choas….

  2. It is a beautiful building IMO EXCEPT for the earlier mentioned south and east exposures – they essentially painted the cement board white and called it a day…personally upsetting since I have to look at it from that angle daily.

  3. Nicely done in terms of breaking down the mass and celebrating the corner. The changes in plane give some welcome relief to the facade. My only gripe is that it appears that retail at grade on 4th Ave was once again neglected by the developer.
