Last month, 221 Washington was wrapping up construction, but now it looks like the home is finally done. Construction began here in October 2010, after a fish-shingled house was torn down to make way for the new build. Click through for some close-up photos.

  1. traditional double doors are about 4 feet six or eight inches wide. Each half door is about 2 foot four. The code requires, in its wisdom, that no entry door should be less than 3 feet, so the double doors do not meet code. sometimes, architects create fake double doors which look like they have two panels but are really one with a false divider. However those doors are sometimes not allowed because the swing extends too far out. It is very very difficult to design attractive facades in NYC.
