Two small apartment buildings rising on Dean Street between Underhill and Vanderbilt avenues in Prospect Heights are looking close to done, on the outside at least. The buildings at 719 (above) and 751 Dean both have windows, and the former has gotten balconies too. No. 751 has an old-fashioned looking cornice, although the rest of the building looks fairly new.

It will have two apartments on each of its four floors, for a total of eight units and 8,010 square feet, according to permits. The architect of record is Sandor Weiss, who’s also designing a six-story addition to a rental building nearby at 85 Eastern Parkway.

Closer to Underhill, 751 Dean will have four units on four floors, spread among 3,960 square feet, permits show. A schematic on the fence shows that the small plot at 751-753 Dean Street will eventually have two buildings, but only one has gone up so far. AM Studio Architect & Design is the architect. What do you think of how they look so far?

  1. I’m all for development and welcome this building, but why can’t developers at least make it look like they care about the aesthetics of their projects? This is hideous, and sadly the face of many modern, cheap developments.
