Oratory Church Fall Festival
The Oratory Church of St. Boniface in Downtown Brooklyn invites families and individuals with special needs to a non-denominational Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 11 am to 1 pm. This fun and welcoming community event will bring together members of our parish and beyond for an ecumenical prayer service, special needs resource fair (job placement, housing, recreation), and children’s Halloween activities. Held at 111 Willoughby Street, Brooklyn (between Duffield and Bridge Streets near DeKalb Avenue). Close to Q,R and Jay St./Metrotech N,A,C,F subway lines. Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
Smorgasburg is now at its second weekly location in Brooklyn Bridge Park at the historic Tobacco Warehouse in Dumbo. It’ll be open every Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm through Nov. 18. Of course, on Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Avenue (between Clermont and Vanderbilt avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue and the East River). Saturday at the Williamsburg location is also the home of our all-food market, Smorgasburg. The Flea features over 150 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry and amazing food. Flea: Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Smorg: Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm. Free.

Halloween at Prospect Park
Prospect Park is full of scary spooks, chills, and thrills all weekend long. Get spooked by fantastic monsters and ghouls at the annual Haunted Walk and Carnival at the Nethermead on Saturday, October 27 from 12 to 3pm (Saturday only). You can also take a spin on the Haunted Carousel, learn about creepy critters at Creepy Crawly Halloween, listen to Scary Stories from the Past (Sunday only), and for the first time, grab a delicious bite at food trucks stationed in the Park (Saturday only)! Be sure to take your map of weekend events along, too. Don’t miss your chance to join the fun in one of the Park’s greatest—and scariest—traditions!
Ghouls & Gourds at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
Saturday, October 27 from Noon to 6 p.m. Kids under 12 free! Show off your costume and shake a tail feather at Brooklyn’s wackiest costume parade and drum circle! PLUS Colossal Puppets, Flamingo Croquet, Mustache Booth, Waltzing Woodland Creatures, Victorian Toy Parlor, and more!
P.S. 9 Pumpkin Patch
Need a pumpkin or two? Buy a pumpkin in support of PS 9. Between 10 am and 2 pm this Saturday, October 27th, pick your own $5 pumpkin in our outdoor classroom (Bergen Street at Underhill Ave), then come around to our cafeteria (entrance on St. Mark’s near Underhill) for pumpkin decorating, face-painting, apple cider, snacks and more. Can’t make it Saturday? Pumpkins will be sold in the PS 9 garden/outdoor classroom on Bergen Street after school (3-5 pm) from Wednesday 10/24 to Friday 10/26.
Halloween FALL FEST on Flatbush Avenue
THe North Flatbush Avenue BID is hosting a Halloween FALL FEST this Saturday, October 27th from 12pm to 4pm at the 6th Avenue Triangle on Flatbush Avenue and St. Marks Place. No Rain Date. We will be giving away over 200 pumpkins (while supplies last) per family, face painting, arts and crafts, pumpkin decorating, hula hoops, sing a long with Jon Samson from Co-creative Music, Chess games with NYC Chess & Games, giving away free crocus bulbs for FAll planting, free apple cider from Woodland, Raffles and Prizes AND for adults, the Brooklyn Boulders Rock climbing wall.
Howl-o-ween Parade and Fundraiser
On October 28th, from 1 to 3pm, it’s the 10th Annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Parade and Contest on the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade! Those interested should register at Perfect Paws, 102 Hicks Street, by Saturday, Oct. 27. All of the event proceeds will be split among three different animal charities, although it is free to just watch the parade. It’ll begin at the Remsen Street entrance of the promenade at 12:45 pm and will end at the circular north end of the promenade. Local and celebrity judges will be on hand to pick their favorite dog costumes in many different categories. Afterward, an after party and silent auction will be held at the Vinegar Hill Vet in Dumbo at 4pm. The only admission to the after-party is $10 in raffle tickets.
