Atlantic Antic
The 38th Annual Atlantic Antic Street Festival. Sunday, September 30th 2012. 12pm to 6pm, Rain or Shine. Atlantic Avenue: Hicks Street to 4th Avenue.
UNITED Bridge Walk & Festival
The LIVE UNITED Bridge Walk & Festival brings together thousands of individuals and teams from across the city to raise awareness of the urgent need to “bridge” critical gaps in educational achievement, income stability and access to healthy food for low-income New Yorkers. The 1.5 mile walk will begin in Foley Square, cross the Brooklyn Bridge and culminate in Cadman Park Plaza with a festival featuring live music, specialty food trucks, and fun activities for children and youth. Also at the Festival, dozens of United Way’s partner nonprofits will be on hand to share information about the wide range of opportunities they offer for New Yorkers of all ages to get involved as volunteers and advocates. Registration is free. All registered walkers will receive a LIVE UNITED t-shirt. Saturday, September 29, 2012, Opening Ceremony: 9:45 a.m., Bridge Walk: 10 a.m. LIVE UNITED Festival: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Fresh Ground Pepper Circus
Saturday, September 29th, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, East River State Park. Come on down to East River State Park for a relaxing day of zany family fun! NYC-based theater collective Fresh Ground Pepper presents a repeat performance of its FREE OUTDOOR CIRCUS featuring up-and-coming local Circus and Street Performance talent. Bring some friends and a blanket and welcome in autumn with theatrical hilarity. You could even bring a costume or musical instrument and join in the fun!
Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
Smorgasburg is now at its second weekly location in Brooklyn Bridge Park, at the historic Tobacco Warehouse in Dumbo. It’ll be open every Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm through Nov. 18. Of course, on Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Avenue (between Clermont and Vanderbilt avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue and the East River). Saturday at the Williamsburg location is also the home of our all-food market, Smorgasburg. The Flea features over 150 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry and amazing food. Flea: Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Smorg: Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm. Free.
