1st Annual Brooklyn Springtime Guitar Show
Brooklyn Bowl is proud to host the Collect-I-Bowl 1st Annual Brooklyn Springtime Guitar Show. Musicians, collectors, enthusiasts and fans alike are encouraged to drop in and check out a vast assortment of other collectors’ equipment. Everything from guitars, strings, picks, amps and straps to books and albums will be displayed. Vendors will also be on hand selling new, used and vintage products. The show is a buy, sell and trade event so attendees are also encouraged to bring their own equipment to show off. With Lisa Sharken hosting and DJ Uncle Mike spinning all day, it is sure to be a fun-filled day for all of those who attend. Sunday, April 3. 12 p.m. Free. 61 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn Bowl.

Poetry Reading: Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Black Girl
Join in on an evening of poetry with E.J. Antonio, Rachel Eliza Griffiths, Robin Coste Lewis, Kamilah Aisha Moon and Aracelis Girmay. In celebration of National Poetry Month, BHS partners with A.I.R. Gallery and Cave Canem to present an evening of poetry. The collaboration marks the beginning of an ongoing series of poetry readings. All are welcome to attend. The Brooklyn Flea
The Flea moves outdoor this weekend. On Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Ave. (between Clermont + Vanderbilt Avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue + East River). The Flea features over a 150 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and amazing food. Saturday & Sunday, April 2 & 3. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free.

Down the Road: Modern New York Street Photography
The wide availability of digital cameras and computers has resulted in an explosion of new photographers roaming the streets of New York, who publish their work on photo blogs and photo networking websites like Flickr. But it takes more than a camera and a computer to be a successful contemporary street photographer. This conversation with several practicing New York street photographers will discuss the current state of street photography, and consider what may lie ahead, down the road. Target First Satruday: Norman Rockwell
The Brooklyn Museum’s Target First Saturday attracts thousands of visitors to free programs of art and entertainment each month. This event is a celebration of the different techniques artists employ to create a final product, as showcased in the special exhibition Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera. Come and listen to music, screen a film, sketch, listen to curators talk and much more. Some Target First Saturday programs have limited space available and are ticketed on a first-come, first-served basis.
