Today, Friday, September 21, learn how to live a “green” lifestyle and stop by the 3rd Annual Green Brooklyn Conference, coordinated by Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment. The event, Brooklyn’s largest showcase of green and sustainability issues, programs, and products, includes a full day fair and symposium, featuring workshops and discussion groups. A Wee Craic
On Saturday, September 22, the Fleadh Foundation hosts its 7th annual A Wee Craic Festival, showcasing the best of award-winning Irish short films and music. Enjoy a night of “craic”—Irish for a good time—with complimentary drinks by Pabst and Reyka vodka. Attendees can win a trip to Ireland from American Airlines. The Brooklynbretta Music Festival
On Saturday, the annual Brooklynbretta Music Festival takes place in Park Slope. Started in 2006 by White Shoe Records, a Brooklyn-based independent music collective, and scooter shop Brooklynbretta, the event showcases independent music, both from the collective and from like-minded and emerging artists. Quincy Street Stoop Sale
This Saturday and Sunday, check out the Quincy Street Block Association’s annual stoop sale. A number of 40GB iPods will on sale, in addition to iPod accessories, a Playstation 2 with dozens of games, DVDs, books, artwork, jewelry, rugs, household items and other electronic gadgets. Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 778 Quincy Street, between Malcolm X and Patchen Avenue.
Kids Disco Don’t Destroy
On Sunday, Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn is holding this fundraiser with DJ Nicole Leone. Proceeds go toward their continued fight against Ratner’s Atlantic Yards development.
