  1. Not to quibble, but it’s not Virginia Creeper. It’s Boston Ivy.
    //
    They’re closely related. They’re both in the same genus, Parthenocissus. P. quinqefolia, Virginia Creeper, has five distinct leaflets (quinque folia) to each leaf. P. tricuspidata, Boston Ivy, has solid leaves with three to five lobes (tri cuspid), like the vine in the photo.

    You can compare the photos from their Wikipedia articles to see the difference.

  2. Did you read the article, 12:00? 41% were in favor, then they were asked again after they were told the expected benefits of congestion parking. Classic way to skew poll numbers.

    Coupled with the fact that it was conducted by a group with a stake in the effort.

    I’m pro-congestion parking, but this poll was fishy at best.

  3. Regarding NY Post survey, it sounds as if the pollsters were pushing the respondents towards a favorable point of view. The orchestration of the media coverage of this event is very suspicious.

  4. Lovely picture, but that’s not Ivy. That’s Virginia Creeper or Parthenicissus quinquefolia. It is deciduous and turns colors in the fall. Ivy is evergreen and darker. It also causes more damage to walls than Virginia creeper.
