Yes, I am generally a flat tax guy. (Mortgage tax deduction is not a big deal for me personally.)
All of the deductions serve to make the tax system too complex – a lower rate with fewer deductions available is much more desirable.
etson, I take it you’re against the mortgage tax deduction also?
I’m also voting for barring Mancunians from NYC.
I am proud that my home city voted down congestion pricing in a referendum two years ago. They saw it for the useless stealth tax it is.
I have a big problem philosophically with politicians seeking to regulate behavior via taxation.
How about littering??? The city could make a fortune from assholes who drop their candt wrappers and cig butts.
“When tolls are started on east river bridges and congestion pricing instituted we than can discuss the registration of bikes.”
I’m voting for all those measures. Plus enforcement of fines against owners who don’t pick up pooch poop.
If you want to show support for a bike lane or express your concern please attend the CB meeting tonight at 8119 5th avenue. Begins at 7:00.
I personally would like to see some more bike lanes in the nabe. I use my bike often and would like to know that I have a lane I can feel safe in.
There’s room for everyone on the road.
can’t even buy a 3000 lb CAR. SUV’s more like double
quote:
A 20lb bike causes so much more distress to the streets vs a carbon spewing, 3,000lb SUV.
ha. it depends how you look at it. i’ve almost been run over 1000s of times by people on bikes, but pretty much never by an SUV. that said, i am NOT pro-car. but i am also definitely not a bike tard.
feet people! use them.
