On the “Meatless Monday” issue:
Last week Manhattan borough president Scott Stringer proposed that NY public schools institute a “Meatless Monday” program, by which students would start their week with spinach and green beans, foregoing bacon strips and chicken wings. “The way to get to kids is to raise the flag: ‘Give up meat one day a week. I’m not going to have Burger King or McDonald’s for one day,’†said Stringer
Christ, there’s a big difference between meatless, i.e. protein-less, and friggin bacon and chicken wings. Stringer is another idiot.
– Wall St will save us all!!
Like they have in the past.
School Bake Sales will now be indoor Green markets.
Fun!
“and is considering a “Meatless Monday” school lunch program.”
i.e., pasta or pizza…..not much better. Actually worse! (no protien)
Mopar I totally agree!
a cookie made with butter and sugar is much healtheir than a cookie made with shortening, disodiumglutonamate, dixicinicide, partially hydrogaenated oils, red dye 1.5.6 and so on
Yay – Wall St will save us all!!
Despite the potential double dip and high unemployment among the proles, the bonuses could lead to a surge in sales of higher end properties.
It’s going to be a Tale of Two Cities this Spring.
I don’t even know where to begin with the news today, it’s so shocking.
Homemade desserts enjoyed in moderation are part of a healthy lifestyle. Prepackaged, processed food has absolutely no place. Banning homemade desserts is part of the same misguided crash-diet while eating crap mentality that leads to obesity and heart disease in the first place. Also, these administrators don’t seem to have gotten the memo that processed carbs, not fat, causes weight gain, diabetes, and heart disease, not fat.
I couldn’t agree more
i love to how kids are allowed to have doritos but not homebaked goods which tend to not to have chemicals in it
