The Daily News ran this rendering of the new Water Slide Beach that’s slated to open in Coney Island on July 4th weekend and stay up and running through Labor Day. “It’s a giant inflatable water slide,” said Anthony Gach of Party Magic USA, the concessionaire. “You’ve never seen anything like it. It’s really a treat.” Dunno, looks pretty low-budge to us.

Agree 100%. I had the same experience when raising my now-grown daughter.

One of the best aspects of Brooklyn’s renaissance is the revival of recreational amentities for children and teens.

  2. As the mom of a city teen, I think this is GREAT. When she was younger, I hated having to go to NJ for my kid to enjoy activities like this. A great idea for Coney Island. Hope it’s not too expensive!

  3. This appears to be on the water side of the boardwalk, not an empty lot. The rendering makes it look very cartoony but I remeber loving anything water park related when I was a kid. We once went to this really lame one in Florida where someone had just slung ropes and pulleys up a few feet over this lake and we thought it was great.

  4. yeah, no problem with low rent crap on coney island.. but i think he meant it looks kinda rinky dink.. like those inflatable castles at street fairs and stuff.

oh yeah and if this another one of those, you aint allowed in if you havent added to the human species type of deal im gonna be mad.
