For those of you who missed this year’s Prospect Heights House Tour (or those of you who want to relive it), we hit the streets with a cameraman in tow, checking out several of the houses and talking to some homeowners and tour go-ers. At one stop, we even bumped into Marty Markowitz who shared some thoughts with us on screen. (As with our last video, big thanks to the folks at Rumur.tv for their production skills.) For those who attended, what were the highlights of the tour?
Prepping for the Prospect Heights House Tour [Brownstoner]
“Community building”? Brownstoner?
BWAAA HAAA HAAA
HEEE HEE HAAAAAAA
BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH
8:15, if you thought the PH tour was lame, you should have gone on the CH tour. I could barely stay awake.
Very nice, Brownstoner. Next up: Bedford-Stuyvesant. Will you be filming there as well?
I went on the PH house tour and i was disappointed. Honestly, I found the houses pretty dull and ordinary looking
Note 6:38’s post has an underscore at the end, which means it’s not THE Brownstoner but an imposter. Can’t believe someone actually goes through the effort of doing that. Why bother?
The video was great and anybody who is generous enough to open up their homes to strangers for education and pure enjoyment, deserve a lot of appreciation.
Give me a fucking a break, Debra & Marc. Community building? He’s about to internet race war.
Mr. B — don’t pay any mind to the resentful, rude trolls (is that redundant?) who have nothing better to do with their time than be negative. We thought your video was really good (and of course appreciate that you put our house on it, with and without Marty Markowitz) and think that it’s great that you take the time, and energy, to put something like this together. We hope that you don’t let the petty jerks diminish your enthusiasm for the community-building work you do….thanks again. And, FWIW, we really enjoyed being on the house tour — especially seeing the wide, diverse swath of Brooklynites who seem to be as obsessed with real estate and design as we are…. it’s nice to know that we’re in such good company and it was nice to further broaden our acquaintance with so many lovely neighbors. -Debra & Marc
What a huge bummer this thread is. You don’t have to like Mr B.’s video, but at least he delivered some serious content by creating it. Meanwhile the vast majority of these comments are just a complete waste of time and nothing to do with the house tour.
Park Sloper,
Speaking of vitriol…We only covered the properties where the owners gave us explicit permission. FWIW, we love loft living. Lived in one in Little Italy for four years in the late ’90s.
