A quick update on the old La Playa restaurant, which has been in construction for a few weeks. When we saw construction workers in and out of the spot and asked what was coming, they told us, “Male Strip Club.” (Maybe these are the same guys who worked here.) After pressing, all we could get was that they thought it was a Mexican restaurant. After peeking in, it seemed like a decent guess.

Park Slope is sorely lacking in the strip club department so it is great to see the commercial mix is diversifying. Not sure Mexican food is ideal for a strip club environment, but the results could be interesting.
Isn’t this the place were anyone who opens a restaurant here has to “partner” with the holder of the liquor license until they ultimately go out of business?

The problem with skimming before having coffee is that I read this this as a Mexican Male Strip Club, and am so tired I only thought at least its not another Thai/Sushi joint.
